Sustainable Support for Municipalities from Güzelyurt

Mahmut Özçınar, the Mayor of Güzelyurt, made significant statements during the 43rd anniversary of the Turkish Cypriot Municipalities Union. He emphasized the commitment to focus on sustainable projects to strengthen and enhance the effectiveness of municipalities.

Established in 1983 to promote cooperation and solidarity among municipalities, the Turkish Cypriot Municipalities Union has achieved numerous successes over the years. Özçınar highlighted the importance of this unity, asserting that local governments must strengthen to better respond to the needs of the people.

He noted that sustainability encompasses not only environmental aspects but also social and economic dimensions. In this context, he announced that efforts would be made in areas such as training and resource management to enhance the effectiveness of local governments.

Expressing optimism for the future of the Turkish Cypriot Municipalities Union, Özçınar emphasized the necessity of collective action to overcome the challenges faced by municipalities. He also stated that innovative approaches must be developed to address local issues.
