Unresolved Issues in Student Transportation

The Turkish Cypriot Modern Public Transport Operators Association, known as Kar-İş, is calling for concrete steps to address the ongoing issues in student transportation. Association President Fuat Topaloğlu has urged Minister of National Education Nazım Çavuşoğlu to announce specific dates and an implementation schedule regarding the resolution of these issues to the public.

In a written statement, Topaloğlu emphasized the need for urgent action to resolve the persistent uncertainties and challenges in student transportation. He noted that these problems negatively impact students' educational experiences and stressed that the ministry should address the situation before taking concrete steps.

Moreover, he argued that the contents of discussions and correspondence with the ministry should be shared with the public. This transparency would enable transport operators and families to stay informed about the process.

Topaloğlu criticized the Minister's approach of accusing Kar-İş of insincerity, stating that such accusations do not contribute to resolving the issues. He highlighted the need to eliminate the lack of communication and cooperation in order to find solutions.

Student transportation is not only about logistics but also plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety of students. Therefore, it is believed that the ministry must act swiftly. Topaloğlu expressed that authorities should be more sensitive to this matter.

Kar-İş predicts that if no necessary steps are taken to resolve the issues in student transportation, the educational process will continue to be adversely affected. Consequently, there is a growing expectation for the ministry to announce a concrete timetable soon.
