Preparations Complete for New School Year

The new academic year in Northern Cyprus is set to commence with primary education starting on Monday and secondary and vocational education on Tuesday. Approximately 59,000 students will begin classes alongside 6,500 teachers.

Minister of Education Nazım Çavuşoğlu announced that preparations for the 2026-2027 academic year have been completed. He noted that this year's educational period has been planned to contribute to students' academic and social development.

Schools will offer a curriculum aimed at providing students with a wide range of subjects. Educational institutions will present various activities and programs to assist students in developing their diverse talents.

Çavuşoğlu emphasized that, in addition to the preparations, new teaching methods would be implemented to enhance the quality of education. He also announced that professional development opportunities and seminars for teachers would be prioritized.

All necessary precautions have been taken to ensure that students learn in a healthy educational environment. Hygiene rules will be observed in schools, and measures will be implemented to safeguard students' health.

This new academic year will not only provide students with academic knowledge but also offer opportunities for them to enhance their social skills. Çavuşoğlu highlighted that the education system would be strengthened further this year.
