Buffavento Castle

The name of Buffavento Castle has Italian origins, but its exact meaning is difficult to specify. "Castle of Seven Winds," "Resisting the Winds," "Protection from Gusty Winds", these and many other interpretations of the castle’s name hint at the natural characteristics prevailing in the area. Indeed, for a fortress built on steep mountains at an altitude of 940 meters above sea level, the wind remains a faithful companion to this day.
