Yüksel Akay Ltd. started its activity in the optics field in 1988 with the store "Girne Çarşı Akay Optik." Soon the company expanded its range of services by adding watchmaking, the profession of the founder Yüksel Akay’s father, to the import, servicing, and sale of watches. In 2003, the company continued its operations within a multi-brand agreement at the "Girne Center" building, located on Mete Adanır Street. Later, the company acquired distribution rights for jewelry, watches, and eyewear brands "Swarovski" and "Swatch" in the TRNC, which are well-known and in demand worldwide, thus adding them to its structure and service range.
