Urgent Action Demanded to End Femicide in North Cyprus

The CTP Women's Organization has organized a press conference to draw attention to the recent rise in femicides. Following the tragic incident in Aygün, members gathered in front of the Prime Ministry, emphasizing that they will not wait for another woman to be killed.

During the demonstration, CTP representatives criticized the government for its lack of effective measures to combat violence against women. They highlighted that the increase in femicides is indicative of a deeper societal decay. "We face new incidents of violence every day," said Derya, stressing that this situation is unacceptable.

The organization called for stronger laws and enforcement mechanisms to prevent such incidents. They argued that the government must resign as a matter of urgency, framing this demand not merely as a political issue but as a critical need for societal safety.
