Soli is an ancient city-kingdom on the west coast near Lefke. Among the remains from the Roman and early Christian periods, the theatre carved into the hillside and the basilica famous for its rich mosaics stand out. The swan mosaic in the basilica is one of the island's best-known ancient mosaics.
One of western North Cyprus's quiet, crowd-free history stops, Soli also stands out for its sea views. As shade is scarce, a hat and water are wise. It is ideal to visit on the same day as the nearby Vouni Palace.
