The Pentadaktylos (Beşparmak) Viewpoint, on the Kyrenia–Nicosia road, is one of the best places to see the famous five-finger-shaped peak of the mountain range. Named after a rock formation that resembles the five fingers of a hand from afar, the mountain is one of North Cyprus's natural symbols and the subject of many legends.
Ideal for a short stop, the spot is especially striking at sunset, when the mountains turn red. Be sure to use a safe pull-off; in winter, fog can hide the view. It combines easily with a visit to St. Hilarion.
